On The Docket
LUCHA is proud to host a distinguished panel of Nashville School of Law alumni who are actively practicing at the highest levels of corporate and in-house law. For many NSL students, “corporate law” can feel like a path reserved for graduates of ABA-accredited institutions. This event is designed to challenge that assumption, directly and credibly.
Our panel features three NSL graduates who have built successful careers in corporate environments: Van Santos (Senior Counsel, Metropolis), Joshua Mayo (Senior Corporate Counsel, Cracker Barrel), and Lamar Moore (Vice President & Senior Credit Officer). Each of these professionals began where you are now, balancing work, life, and evening law classes at NSL, and leveraged that foundation into meaningful leadership roles in corporate practice.
This discussion will focus on practical strategy: how to position yourself while in law school, how to build a résumé that corporate employers respect, how to network intentionally, and how to translate NSL’s unique educational model into a competitive advantage. Students will hear candid insights about hiring realities, credential perception, skill development, and the pathways that actually opened doors.
Most importantly, this panel sends a clear message: corporate law is not off-limits to NSL students. It is attainable. It requires intentionality, performance, and strategic relationship-building. but it is being done right now by graduates of this very institution. LUCHA is committed to expanding visibility around those pathways and ensuring students understand the full spectrum of opportunities available to them.
